Craft for children ages pre-k through 3rd grade.
This is a basic craft idea that you can simplify, or add to, according to the age and ability of your child.
1) Four sheets of construction paper or poster board
2) Orange for fall feasts: Trumpets * Day of Atonement * Tabernacles
3) White for winter historical celebrations: Hanukkah * Purim
4) Green for spring feasts: Passover * Unleavened Bread * Firstfruits * Pentecost
5) Yellow for summer: There are no special appointments in this season. Ask your child to put pictures of God’s creation and what they like to do in summer. There may be no set appointments but it is a wonderful time to think about the beauty God has created for us.
I have presented this craft to children in two ways. First, I have had them cut the construction paper to booklet size and draw symbols of each feast or holiday on the appropriate color. Second, I have had the children use full size colored poster board to create large charts. I supplied topical coloring book pages that I found online or in the book we have on our book review page called A Family Guide to the Biblical Holidays. That publication also has craft ideas and activities for older children.
